Tired eyes always miss the sleeping sun
and I would not fall asleep with anyone,
but you even though the mirror is cracked.
When the moon and I become enemies
I know I can turn to face your humble sheep
I know I can no longer try to fall asleep
for the temptation to just touch your skin
which rests so much darker than mine.
How so electrifying runs this fear that one day
your eyes will open and the stars will shine
and you will rip the sheets that protect us
so that my baby form will lie there exposed
for without you I am a child, I am alone.
How these nightmarish fears begin to fade
as dawn begins to sing its sweet serenade
your eyes open up and the stars, they shine
no thought of leaving in your dozing mind.
A lullaby to hum underneath the sleeping sun
the clock ticks as it offers us a lulling beat
which sends us both back off to sleep
but we never sleep so that we can dream
for our dreams are reality beneath the sheets.

- Description: Dreams and sleep (Or lack thereof) is my obsession at the moment and this is my little tribute to that with the example of how it feels to lie in bed next to the one you love. This includes the doubts but they always vanish eventually.
