Ode To Mum

• Description: This is a poem i wrote to my mum for Mother's Day (:
  Starts from when I was a child, to my first suspension in 2nd grade for saying a "threat" to a boy who was going to beat me up, to my first boyfriend in 6th grade who used me, and to the present day.
  I wrote this in May 2009 and I printed it out on Mother's Day along with a bouqet of roses for her<3(:

Ode To Mum




I was a total crybaby when I was child.
Most people thought I was quite wild.
I remember that I turned to be very riled,
But you just hugged me, and smiled.

In 2nd grade, I got into major trouble,
This boy decided to burst my bubble,
Causing me to act on the double.
For what I did, made my reputation of good, into rubble.
I thought you would think of me of asking for trouble,
But you just hugged me, and smiled.


Once I entered middle school,
I had a boyfriend who I thought was cool.
Although having a boyfriend was against the rule,
You allowed us to stay together for more than Yule.
Everything changed when I found out he used me as a tool.
It literally made me think of myself as a total fool.
When you looked at me, I thought you were going to be cruel,
But you just hugged me, and smiled.

Years went by and I got older.
My attitude started to change causing me to act colder.
Towards my family, I was highly bolder,
But then I started giving you the cold shoulder.
I didn’t realize it until I started to smolder,
But you still hugged me, and smiled.

Now it’s May,
And all I can say is Happy Mother’s Day.

You have done so much for me.
I can’t imagine how my life without you would be.

What I really want to say is thank you….
And I love you……
