• One lonely winter day
    About quarter after ten
    A solitary man
Left the dimness of the den

    He wandered aimlessly
As he began to hope to snare
    The meaning of this madness
    To asuage his mental affair

    He wandered on
    As neon shined so bright
    "Come on in!
    Tonight is your night
    "

    He felt so accomplished,
    So very acclaimed
    This was HIS night
    Heck, the sign had proclaimed

So he ran to the gate
    "This is my big chance"
    He even said it aloud
    As he started to dance

    He walked atop the gold
    Grin wide across his face
    This is so strange,
    "I've never seen this place"

    He didn't mind it though
    It had a happy tinge
    Running all around,
    On this dancing binge

But then it started to hit him
As the angel to his right
    Said, "Sir, are you ready?
    If so, let's take flight
    "

    Then he looked below him
Through the clouds at his feet
    Saw his earthly body
    But Death had him beat

    He saw his families tears
    Run down from their eyes
Only to pool at their feet
    Death, was his demise

He had past on Christmas morning
As their hearts began to race
But they knew it'd be alright
For he was in, a better place.
