-
I jump at the sound
of the cell phone hum
Reaching for it only
to turn away glum.
It wasn't your call
nor a text from you
Both are far spaced these days
and few.
It's like you are slipping away
slowly, slowly,
Only to come back with
that smile that's namely.
I won't give up
But I won't suffocate -
A medium must be found
Before It Is Too Late.
I lost you once,
And the rebound still haunts,
My little heart won't have it -
Heartbreak it does not want.

Description:
Digging through some of my old poems... I found this one, and wanted to post it.
At the time, I was dealing with one of my best friends slipping away from me. He was slipping through my fingers, and I didn't know what to do. - Date: 12/06/2009
