Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay
Of sinister reds and passionate browns?
Do I dare disregard another day
As an innocent morality play?
If I should cry, I would make too much sound.
Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay?
How I wished to be part of the ballet,
But they persuaded me to buckle down.
Do I dare disregard another day
As my mind becomes ever disarray?
An unbroken soul intended to drown.
Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay,
This filthy, stinking clay dwindling away?
I melted into the remorseful town.
Do I dare disregard another day
As we evanesce to a charcoal grey
And our deepest fears become renowned?
Do I dare sleep on this vile southern clay?
Do I dare disregard another day?

- Really nice work! My only critique here is the line 'This filthy, stinking clay dwindling away?' seems a little bit too long in terms of syllables (clunky, maybe?) but otherwise your word choice was excellent.
