• It was supposed to be a secret
    Hidden behind my lips,
    In the back of my mind.
    Slowly it slips,
    Hidden by darkness
    Up my throat, past my tongue, out it came.
    I've held it in for years,
    Past the point of no return, no one to blame.
    I just couldn't stop the tears,
    There they go, lost are my words.

    One by one rumors started.
    Oh how may I forgive
    My lips for they have parted?
    I might as well have a bag
    For my head shall not be seen,
    It will surely sag
    I feel a knot in my stomach, I think I'm gonna puke.

    Feel the fear in my eyes
    As I see my boyfriend
    And the terrible surprise.
    My secret is out.
    I'm done and dumped
    For this embarrassing B.O.
    Attached to me is a leech
    Never will let go.

    "My sweet, my darling, why can't you tell me,
    Why I haven't heard this before?"
    I stutter and stumble, no words to be found.
    "Say-say nothing, I want to hear no more.
    You said all secrets were out.
    You lied; I guess you just don't care."
    There is a first for everything; I had nothing to say,
    He never told me a secret. He said he wouldn't dare.
    "Don't care? Don't care? How 'bout you?
    I care! Said all but one. Yet you say naught."
    I yelled so loud, the building shook.
    That's the end, we all knew it. The secret was just a thought.
