I feel the harsh, December winds
Numbing up my heart
Clutching at my very soul
Tearing me apart
As I walk among bare trees
This feeling doesn’t stop
The anger, stress, and freezing pain
Filling me to the top
The winter skies, so beautiful
Yet, oh, so deadly cold
Remind me that the cost of life
Is painful to behold
As I journey though this life
With tired and empty grace
Praying for the soothing rain
To wash this tear-streaked face
But God could never truly grant
A roaming gypsy’s prayer
For I am just a heathen
With a cruel burden to bare
So I shall forever roam about
Trying to remember
As I wander through this land
Haunting My December
