• I stand here by the river,
I watch the blue shining in the sun,
The stones moving, drifting towards the sea,
The birds of prey come here to hunt,
    Making ripples on the water,
    Like nothing else can.
The sun slowly fades behind me,
Silhouetting me in reds and pinks,
The fresh mountain air floods me,
Crisp and sweet, like nothing else.
I wish to stay here forever,
    Watching the stones change,
The birds come, and the sun set.
But once the sun is gone,
    So must I leave.
For if I stay too long,
This place may be gone forever,
Destroyed by me and my kind.
So I leave, never to return,
    A new life awaits tomorrow
