• I am surrounded by a forest
    Always have been
    But it isn’t real

My paint is chipped and faded
So, I looked to the clouds and traded
    Traded scenes

The world is misty and gray, now
    It’s so void I can’t stray, now
    I can’t stray

    Clouds don’t have silver linings
If they were they couldn’t rain
    Couldn’t rain

Birds fly right by me sometimes
They chirp at me like wind chimes
    Like wind chimes

I saw a plane in the sky, today
    The clouds quivered in fear
    The birds all disappeared

    I am alone with
A loud metal heap with wings that
Scared away all the good things

    Even in an empty space
    With only birds and clouds
I’d take their company any day
    Over iron shrouds
