Disposable
It's a word first truely brought into my mind
by a man named Brian Hugh Warner
You may know him as the Antichrist Superstar
Marilyn Manson
The man who told me to shoot, shoot, shoot like a mother
Shoot, shoot, shoot at your own brother
Because with one shot, the world gets smaller
The man who taught me to rebel from the waist down
because the world will always spread its legs for another star
He said that we... We are Disposable teens
And If there is one word to discribe us as a generation, it is: Disposable
Or maybe "Disposed average Joes that are juxtaposed" I suppose,
who knows?
But my point is this:
What are you doing?
And who do you do it to?
Because right now, Im just as disposable as you, and you, and you
Those Reebok shoes aint of use to you,
dude, it's true
A human life is worth roughly one-hundred thousand dollars
Now, add up the current sellback value of everything you own
subtract that number from the one hundred thousand
and you have discovered how much you're really worth
Because for each Xbox game, gold chain,
and brand name product you have
That's another reason for someone to want you gone
Your Ferrari will usher you into the Age of the Gross
The age where everbody's doing "it"
though they have no clue what "it" really is
the age where Rockstars are roll models
and the people with good ideas
are forced to shout them in the back of a mattress shop
this has to stop
the hands of the clock have slowed
but we need to strip the gears and induce fear in the ignorant
"A politician said WHAT?"
Ignore it, it's not important
I can stare into the eyes of twenty or more revolutionary, visonary missionaries
and I realize that those eyes are still disposable
So, do you want an evolution?
This age was far from a hit
And if you fear a revolution, man
the you are my target
All we hear from the average teen boy is:
"Sex, sex, sex, and dont forget the violence"
It's making us...disposable
All we hear from the average teen girl is:
"Daddy, hand me the credit card"
It's making us... disposable
We are disposable in the eyes of parents
we are disposable in the minds of politicians
the only people that still care seem to be Big Tobacco
and, eventually, we'll still be disposable
Cuz if the cancer dont kill you, then your self-esteem will
How's it feel to know that you just ate your last meal?
This is real. But... it's no big deal.
You've gotta die sometime, right?
The more that they know us, the weaker we get
Because knowledge and intimacy collectively amount to leverage
So when you guzzle that alcoholic beverage
dont protest, dont reject, just digest and reflect
that you are truely

- Title: Disposable
- Artist: SilvertongueSagittarius
- Description: about the poem's inspiration: I normally dont name drop, but I think it worked here. Manson inspired a lot of my writing and I figured I'd really show it in this one. The poem is about how mordern day teens complain about stuff but never act. Then wonder why society hates them. Im' probably doing this one at Heard Em Say too

- Wow..I mean jeez..Deep...I don't think I've ever asked for my dad's credit card in my life though so that particular lyric doesn't exactly apply to me...But even as happy-go-lucky as I am I totally get this.
