• The Moonlight

There’s a hedgerow in the moonlight where a soul was laid to rest
And his friends, half of them joined him at the dogleg motionless

So the parents, worried sick now, hurried quickly to the house
Where the party ended quickly, interrupting the teenage shouts

So party on, so party on in a mindless music din
Your friends are gone, your friends are gone because of the pressure they were in
Had forced the shots, had forced the shots; too many were settled within
And so the fault, and so the fault and guilt is put upon your head

Venture forth now to the silo where your friends hold Mary Jane
And they light up with you caught up in this mad, forsaken game

Kids are drinking in the moonlight with the ruckus up again
And the cold keys jingle softly; to the car they pile in

So party on, so party on in a mindless music din
Your friends are gone, your friends are gone because of the pressure they were in
Had forced the shots, had forced the shots; too many were settled within
And so the fault, and so the fault and guilt is put upon your head

They start racing in the moonlight; can you hear their engines roar?
And the foolish lack of wisdom had put them on this dark course

But the roads they were not empty; soon the high beams had addressed
All his friends half of them joined him at the dogleg motionless

There’s a hedgerow in the moonlight where a soul was laid to rest
