Will they fade away, or be there always?

In the heart, mind and soul
Will they be useless or play an important role?

The pieces of me I’ve left behind
In newsprint and sprawled across the net
Will they make me remembered by the people I’ve met?

The pieces of me I’ve left behind
In the friends I’ve both lost and still cherish
Will they be kept alive by thoughts of love or just left to perish?

The pieces of me I’ve left behind
The only legacy I truly need
Is the idea that I’ve planted a seed
