Every night my nails automatically n i p at my skin,
to ensure that every moment was not just a fantasy.
Affection had it's effects on the both of us,
and the crush's impact brought on
our equally habitual obsessions.
With the fear of infidelity,
the worry of detriment,
and the will to sacrifice;
we are aware this isn't temporary.
Furthering my miles from you,
like delving leagues beneath the ocean,
puts such pressure on my lungs.
Yet, despite the looming possibility
of a transfer to faraway cities,
I respire in your arms.
Placid within your gaze.
Your reflection through my vision is perfection,
for in my eyes all flaws and faults are forgiven.
Irregardless of what has or may come to pass,
I remain ready to recite the words 'I' already 'do'.
"I l o v e y o u."
I linger in this memory,
of what few nights we spent side-by-side.
And I will retain my position, arms open,
til you may fill the void again.

- Might want to steer away from irregardless; it meads without without regards; It's tricky. Still, lovely. Love the part about pressure on the lungs; a wonderful comparison.
