• That one decision,*
    Changed her life,
    Dropped her into the fire,
    The middle of the strife.
    She hadn't known,
How it would make her hurt,
Make her cringe on the floor,
    Make her feel like dirt.
    Everyday she used to pray,
    And lay awake at night,
    Thinking and weeping,
    Clutching her aching heart tight.
Everytime she tried to fix it,
    It just back-fired on her,
    She always feelt so alone,
And her feelings she could not share.
Then one more mistake was made,
    Adding to the pile,
    Darkness started to surrond her,
She grabbed the phone and dialled.*
Her mum picked up the phone,
    And simply said Hello,
The girl said I love you,
And that she'd never felt so low.
Mother said I love you too,
And asked if she was okay,
The girl said she was aching,
But it would all stop today.
    Her mother started to cry,
    As she finally understood,
She begged her not to do it,
Tried as hard as she possibly could.
The girl just repeated I love you,
    Then hung up the phone,
She sat down on her bed,
    And never felt so alone.
The mother raced to save her,
    But you cannot alter fate,
By the time she arrived home,
She already knew it was too late.
    Se fell to her knees,
    Beside her daughters bed,
    Staring at the blood,
    Such a monstrous*, scarlet red.
    In her daughters hand,
    There lay a final note,
She opened it up and read it,
And this is what was wrote:

Join me when you can. I'll wait for you forever. I'm sorry. Forgive my sins. I loved you in life, and I shall love you in death.

This brought a tear to her eye,
    Followed by more and more,
She felt so sad and confused,
    Her body stiff and sore.
    Then the answer came,
    She grabbed the bloody knife,
Looked through the window to the sinking sun,
    Said her silent goodbyes.
    Then she slit her wrists,
    And re-opened her eyes,
    Her daughter was stood there,
    Right by her side.
The daughter smiled at her again,
And it warmed her to the core,
Their spirits linked arms and went to the sky,
    To live happyily forever more.
