Extinguish
We lie on our blanket under the stars
The wind blows through the trees
Away from the sound of people and cars
The owls hoot mournful melodies
Then he flashes me a smile
In the moonlight his fangs shine
I sit for a while
By the one who promised he'd be forever mine
He promised it would cause no pain
When his fangs puncture my skin
I try to scream, but in vain
As a thought arises from within
Is this the choice I should have made, I wonder with all my might
Is this what I had hoped for?
To deny the warmth of Christ's white light
And lurk in the shadows forevermore

- Title: Extinguish
- Artist: an ornery pear
- Description: Please allow me to preface this by saying that this is definitely not my best piece of work. It was another poem that I wrote a while back when I had nothing better to do.
