River Reminiscence

  poetry that I wrote, except I switched it from my old account
  to my new account. I added some new lines and stanzas that I thought would help it. I also changed the title because I recently found out that there was a song called River Flows Through You, so I put River Reminiscence, which I think soundsvery related to the poem.

As I reach my hand
To touch the flowing water
There's a sudden reminiscence
of past that flows through my soul

When I scoop the water through my hand
I remember you,
the river that flows through my soul
a river reminiscence

Your courage,
Your smile,
Your love,
The fate we wanted to share together
The river that sought us through

I remember
I remember
the past we held together

The worst we endured together
Crying and mourning in the corner of the room
The best we shared
Laughing and smiling at each other in the limelight
The secrets we secured
Whispering and giggling in the closet
It was all in us
It was in our
heart
soul

But it all leaves us now
in a river reminiscence

I gently pour the water
out of my hand
the same way
I let you go
to the big wide ocean
that beholds adventure
and mystery.
