Sunny skies shroud the gloom
Of a broken season
As the splintered rain cuts the truth
My fantasy merely a mirage
To lock away the unwanted thoughts
So that I can sleep soundly
Just to think that I’m alive
Chorus
Spring of the hopeless tasks
With nothing to support a worthless act
And drugged by the scent of apple blossoms
Thorny roses and acid honey spreads
On my blistering fingers
Spring can’t revive me
April showers meant to bring May flowers
It only waters weeds
The fruit of failure sprouting slowly
My wicked feelings a barrier
From the joy I crave so bad
To feel the warmth a smile brings
And believe I’m human
Chorus
Interlude
I alone will suffer my own fate
In my eternal state of winter
Trapped inside my block of ice
A thousand suns will never melt
Frostbitten core
So why even try?
Chorus
