Children Cry
With misaprehension and quiet despreation
the children cry for paints and mother goose
For the simple joy of fantasy and creation
withheld due to society's enforced poverty
the hungry child cry's out for stimulus and milk
and withers slowly into a dull shell of a man
Magic dreams crumble as human reality intrudes
and shimmering fantasy fades to lustreless grey
Childhood ends with the death of such dreams
flown away upon intangible invisible fairie wings
why oh why do we stifle and still such beautiful
wonderous childishly glorious dreams
trade paint for pain and unending labour
and pretend its glorious and fine while
