    nothing familiar.
    I am alone
    it is dreary
    but I feel alive and peaceful.
    I am here to walk alone,
    on this empty street that is not so empty.
    there are children playing.
    I never played with others.
    but nevermind that

    there is no time for sadness.
    I must move forward.
    there is no home back there.
    I am not welcome back there.
    I see a couple kissing.
    I never kissed anybody.
    but nevermind that.

    I walk alone, to the future.
    I move away from the past.
    far away.
    because all there is in my past...
    is lonliness and sorrow.
    that is why
    I walk alone.
    I see a child shopping with her mom.
    mom never took me shopping.
    but nevermind that.

    because I,
    I walk alone.
    I forget the past.
    there are no happy memories for me yet.
    that is why I walk alone.
    to the future
    to make me a happy memory
    and meet somebody to live for
    so then,
    I won't have to walk alone.
    but for now,
    I'll move away from the past.
    and find a happy memory
    and share it with somebody I love.
    so then,
    I will not walk alone.
