You hold my hand
As if you care.
I’d take a stand,
But I don’t dare.
You smile and nod
As if it’s real.
I wish you’d stop,
I wish you could feel.
But, no, you stand there,
As if you love me.
Your conscience is bare,
I know you don’t trust me.
We walk down the street,
As if we’re happy.
As our eyes meet,
You smile at me.
I wonder if you’ve changed,
As if you're human.
I look at your face,
And I know I’m done losing.

- Title: As If
- Artist: PurplePwr012
- Description: This is not the most elegant piece, but it makes me, personally, feel everything that I feel when I realize I have two foreboding alternatives to choose from, and have to choose the one that will hurt me the least. Sometimes you have to think of yourself first.
