Slumber

• Description: This wasn't meant to be.... emotional. :)) Anyway, this is also describing a certain situation I'm in now. I don't mean to wake up literally, but to open my eyes to a truth that I have to face. A truth that must be faced, embraced, and erased.

I lie still
Motionless
Here in the dark,
cold water.

I'm happy
floating here
my eyes refuse to open
awaken me from my deep slumber.

I'm scared too, though...
Happy, but scared.
Scared for what will happen
scared for my happiness; temporary.

Wake up!
Desperate,
I try to open my eyes.
With no success.

I lie still.
Fear, worsening.
Cold as ice,
I cease to awaken.

A cry for help
soundless
Someone, please wake me
I can't do it alone.
