• Little bird outside my window
    He sings me many songs
And even when I'm fast asleep
    Lullabies chirp along
The new boy on the street
    Doesn't like my little pet
He throws stones at the window
To try and snap its little neck
But I just yell and scream
And tell him to go home
My birdy says he should be dead
    But I leave him alone
Though one day this dull morning
My song had yet to be
So when I looked outside I saw
Not a trace of my little birdy
    I ran outside in tears
    Searching through the grass
That's when I saw the little body
    His neck broken like glass
I bet that mean boy did this!
    I yelled and walked inside
I'll still keep you safe, I said
And I put him in a cage
Dead birdy hangs by my door
And his eyes, they never close
Although he never leaves the floor
He still sings when no one's home
So one day my birdy sang
But a sweet lullaby it was not
He told me to find the mean little boy
It's about time he got caught
So at night I took my birdy
    And my daddy's baseball bat
And walked the streets till 12 A.M
Until I found the little brat
    Sitting on the sidewalk
    I sat my birdy down
And bashed the boy's neck in half
I bet he knows how my bird felt now
    Amongst the clangs and screaming
My daddy found where I had went
Standing above a dead little boy
A silver bat with one large dent
He got down on his knees
To cry, what did you do!
I pat his shoulder to explain
A little birdy told me to.
