So cold the sun can't warm me
So numb that passion can't burn me
All I have are waves of sorrow
and no more tears to shed
Encased in stone
Nothing can touch me
Yet memories continue to plague me
How do you kill the past?
Sleep, sleep they all whisper
But to sleep is to dream
And to dream is to drown
In the waves of sorrow
Crashing over my head
Oh, why can't the past just stay dead?
My ghosts still haunt me
And my dreams still taunt me
I deserve it, cower that I am
So cold the sun can't warm me
So numb that passion can't burn me
All I have are waves of sorrow
and no more tears to shed

- Great poem to depict the image. Oh how our past scars can still sting...
