Old year, now gone
Deserves one last little song
Was so short but seemed so long
Old year, now gone
Hear the hour bell
Old year, you have served us well
What will come now, who can tell
Hear the hour bell
All things must change
The old and the new exchange
And our worries rearrange
All things must change
Old year, now gone
Deserves one last little song
Was so short but seemed so long
Old year, now gone

- Thank you. Maybe next time I'll have to try to think of better lines. The pattern was nice, though?

- I love the pattern you have. I use a similar pattern with many of my poems. (The beginning makes the end, to show a neverending circle sort of thing.) It sort of feels like you are lacking things to say about the passing year and the year to come though. Each thing you write about in the verses are sort of the same thing expressed differently. It didn't exactly go anywhere, just made a few connected statements. But, the totality of it was very enjoyable. smile
