I thought he was perfect from the beginning
Didn't know those coffee-coloured eyes cared so much for me, would die for me
Fell in love, a rare gift amidst the sorrow in this world
Had the greatest smile
His joy was contagious
Light from the spring sun slipped farther down the horizon
Sudden coldness struck through me, lying in wait and dreading
Looked as uneasy as a full moon shone in the darkness
I didn't know they saw us
He pushed me away, screaming in pain
Trembling so hard as my eyes began to fill with tears
You don't have to, I said as soft as a whisper
This is how it should be, his voice far away
Reached out and held his hand, shaking my head
I'll be right there next to you, can't live without you
He gave his last luminous smile, on through the darkness
It would have been enough; a sacrifice unasked is so much greater
But the darkness was too strong
Always a small light in the darkness that shone bright
Revealing a place of happiness
I saw an angel, can't remember why
Light hair a shining halo
Then I saw it
The same, great, luminous smile

- Title: Light in the Darkness
- Artist: SingularBee
- Description: I thought of this while lying in my bed and daydreaming, just as I always do before I sleep. It's about a young couple who are attacked for some reason while being together somewhere. The boy wants to give up himself so the girl can escape, but she won't have the will to live if he dies. They die together and wake up in heaven. The rest is up to you to decide.
