I look at her
And all I see
Is a half-forgotten dream
Of who I used to be
Her hair is in her eyes
She's staring at the floor
Tears pouring
From her eyes
As she tries
To cover up her pain
She'll blame it
On the rain
Those tears
Aren't really tears
Just droplets from the rain
She's running
Out of time
And half-believed excuses
She's nowhere
Left to run
And nowhere
Left to hide
Her secret's gotten out
Would that she
Could leave
That life of pain
The way I did
The day I got away
Escaping a life
I never dreamed
I'd get to leave
Into a life
I never dreamed
I'd get to live
So I will wish
That she escapes
And helps another out
The way i hope
That I'll help her
