• Two children playing
    In the front lawn.
    They sit with each other
    And suppress a yawn.

    Their dolls only sit there
    Silently begging them to look,
But the children just wait there
    Yearning for a book.

The dolls are sick of waiting.
    They silently start to walk.
    The children do not notice,
    But stand there and talk.

    Their dolls silently walk
    Into the silent house
    And silently surprise
    A very small mouse.

They silently walk through a door
    To grab a couple knives.
    Then silently wonder
    About their silent lives.

    Looking at each other,
    They silently fawn,
    Over the beauty
    Of their silent lawn.

    They creep up behind
    The two young girls
    And stop under
    Their golden curls.

    They draw back their knives
    And plunge them deep
    The children screamed
    And then were reaped.

    The lesson was learned
    For everyone in that house.
    But the only other one
    Was a very small mouse.
