- Like waves of the ocean the grass flow in a restless dance, never resting always moving Like shadows they creep across this restless ocean searching, hunting for the elusive meal with hunger gnawing at their insides. Slowly they approach a buck past it's prime and standing on the outskirts of the herd, a younger and healthier buck took from him. The battle left the older buckwounded and tired. When the buck see's them, it's almost to late but see them he does and with a scream he runs in the opposite direction of the herd to draw the wolves away. They follow the wounded buck and leave the herd for another day. The buck makes it to the forest and starts weavinga wild dance that keeps the wolves from surrounding him. The buck knows it cannot keep this pace up and eventually they'll catch him, so he turns and faces them, he would fight them rather than run anymore. They approach him slowly and surround him in a moving circle, one wolf charges the buck and finds the buck is not as wounded as they thought, as he impales the yearling on his impressive antlers killing him instantly. Shaking himself loose of the wolfs body the rest of the pack attacks as one and before he can bring his antlers into the fight again, he is brought down in a scream of fury that all will know he did not go quietly into that long dark night. The End.
