heart
a heart carved in wood for all to see,
a reminder of what we used to be,
friends forever is what we were,
sat in the shade under the fir.
happy and dancing and singing were we,
under that bitter and twisted tree,
the clouds floated up and tears rolled down,
and all I saw was your princesses crown.
you fluttered past with a laugh and a smile,
yet i was here on my own all the while,
no one to love me and no one to care,
all these secrets i long to share,
but that is impossible when you're not there.
the blossom from cherry trees fell to the floor,
sending out the secret call,
to your maids and butlers, one and all,
warning them that i was nearby,
so turn your heads to make me cry,
but i was not bothered and did not care,
i have no more secrets to tell and share,
you left me alone by that tree,
now say your good bye to me...

If anyone happens to be reading this, I just wanted to let you know why I wrote it.
Basically, I fell out with my best friend who (now when I look back) wasn't really a great friend. But she changed my life and I am better from it. She shaped two of the five years of secondary school and I am eternally grateful for the experience but have no regret now for what happened.
