The Water

Fire on the water
Heed the siren’s song
Listen to the children
Hear them hum along

Oil in the water
With bloody tears and sweat
Corruption in the system
In stone these things are set

Death under the water
Decaying hopes and dreams
Face down in the muddy banks
You’ll hear the muffled screams

Rain above the water
Tears straight from the sky
Humans make the heavens weep
Humans make them cry.

Oh, this doesn't need to be edited at all! I think it says a lot, and it was very fast-paced and easy to read. I've never written anything a beautiful as that...and I've been writing poetry since a very young age...5/5.
