I'm sorry but I'm tired
I don't have time to listen
I've done my routine for today
The same as I do everyday
Now I'll sleep 'til morning
Tomorrow I will do it again
I still won't have time to listen
Because, truly, I don't want to

- Poetry has rules, if you're so inclined to actually find them. Without them, it's indistinguishable from prose or any other kind of writing. Poetry has tempo and rhythm, much different from any other kind of writing. True, it can be written in any form, but stick to one form, whether it be syllable count, rhythm, or rhyme. Otherwise it just becomes a journal entry with poor grammar and conventions.

- Rules on poetry? Now that's a scam. Poetry an be written in any form, in any way. Just because a poem doesn't rhyme or have iambic pentameter doesn't mean it's not poety. And I know poetry.com isn't exactally the greatest website or the greatest place to get published, but like I said, this was 4 years ago. I was in high school and I just wanted my poem to get out there, no matter how silly it seems now.

- Poetry.com is a scam and you need to learn the rules on Poetry before actually writing it. Read some famous works and even modern day poets to understand what is out there. Check out the Original Poetry/ Lyric Topics for more info.
