Bland Salt

This world as we know it is bland.
It is not the precious salt we once knew.

How did this happen? I do not know.
I do not even want to know how.

Did we cause it?
Did we soak it up?
From the ocean or the dirt?
Were we so selfish that we took it ourselves
When we already had our own?

Though we wasted ours too.
Did we waste it?
Or was it always meant to become this?

It does not matter anyhow.
It’s too late.
And I do not care either.
The world is a waste.

Because what’s the point of tasteless salt?
It is useless even for nothing.
