They used to say
you were as old
as how many winters
you lived.
Back when winters
when times of
trial and uncertainitly.
Back when fear and
coldness prevailed.
Back when it was
believed the devil
would win.
But now I believed
your as old as
many bad times
in your life.
Times when you were
disappointed
knocked down
and barely felt alive.
With only the thoughts
of a spring
ahead.
Where the sun on your
skin brought new life
from the darkness
And-
I have lived a thousand years.

- Overall it has a good lead-in, though it could be better you did a good job of leading your readers into the main idea of the work. Nicely done. ^^ The Idea is a powerful one, I like it.
