Knocking on death's door
why?
wonder,curiosity, doubt
hoping my vampire will open the door
who shall answer this thunderous percussion
gleaming eyes
bloodstained face
treacherous fingers grasp me
scared to death
but that is what he wants
I'm snatched inside the doors
fire blazes my every directions
screams of torture invade my ears
not knowing why I've done what I've done
knocking on death's door
monsterous images invade my eyes
burning flesh and smell of decay
oh god what have I done
my assailant smiles as if saying
"God can't help you now"
being dragged along the sulferous floor
clothes torn
trying to hold back the urge to vomit
daring was I
but my position has changed
I'm thrown before a throne
of bone and flesh
there he sits there
taking in his pain and torture
there he smiles
asking why are you knocking on my door
for it's not your turn
not your time
to take your place by my side
seeing his eyes turn to sadness
I speak
I hear you calling out to me
beckoning with dreams of love and power
but what do I have that you find deemable
then he turns and says
only you come knocking on death's door.

Well done. I would have been proud to write this; and I appreciate the hinting at death being as the flame, and we as the moth that circles it, drawn ever closer yet afraid to get burnt.
I like your imagery, and I give your poem a full Five stars.
Write on, Pandora, and let the words come freely. - Report As Spam
