• I was never there to hear the guns boom or the cries of pain.
I was never there to see the bombs explode or the man next to me fall and not get up again.
I was never there to smell the death or dispair.
    I was never there...
    But I am here now,
And I am honoured to live in the country and take part in Remembrance Day.
To respect all those who have come back from war .
To remember all those who have fallen for their country
To listen to the stories told and hold onto them in my mind.
    I was never there...
    But I am here now.
