A child was born and given to the sea.
Her family didn’t want her, didn’t need her, didn’t love her. But the sea did.
As each wave washed over her small baby face, she became more a part of the water, part of the waves, and part of the ocean.
More apart of it then she could ever imagine.
She was the sea.
It was her duty to keep the sea creatures safe from the land-dwellers.
To make sure her creatures were never harmed.
It was her duty to keep her precious waves under control.
For sometimes waves had minds of their own.
It was her duty to keep the water clean and salty, and the seaweed slimy and green.
She was the sea after all.
The people of the land gazed upon her tremendous, hypnotizing beauty.
Magnificent waves, terrifyingly beautiful sharks, wonderful tide pools.
Some people rode her. They called it surfing.
Getting ahead of her swells and riding them. Having fun the whole time.
She was but a tourist attraction.
But she didn’t care.
She realized that not only the creatures of the deep loved her, but so did the ones on land.
The sea was loved.
They gave her a name.
They called her Ocean.
Huge, terrifying, brilliant, salty, hypnotizing, wonderful, magnificent Ocean.
