• Upon crimson
    And gold rug
    A Grinning skeleton
    Lies in still.
    Its body wrenched,
    Black wooden,
    And bare to
    Polish glaze.
    Stolen eyes from
    Mounted painting
    Misplaced and glimmering
    In the Belly
    Of thieving polish
    Staring from depths
    Of black wooden
    And skeletal Grin.

    Two hands as
    Two wings of
    A butterfly
    In grace and sprite
    Flutter upon
    Decrepit teeth
    Of Grinning skeleton.
    Its smile feral
    And gaping.
    Black and white
    Bone teeth,
    Butterfly wings
    And Grinning.
    And wings Tap-
    Tap-Tapping
    On Grins.
    On Grins
    That Engulf
    And speak
    In universal tongues
    For the silent
    Wings, and
    Their Owner,
    Who go on Tap-
    Tap-Tapping.

    Stolen eyes
    Gapping and racing
    For more Tap-
    Tap-Tapping,
    Watch the
    Fluttering of
    Wings and
    The Grinning.
    Voices fall and
    Rise from the
    Gapping, the
    Wide and
    Engulfing Grin,
    And the Tap-
    Tap-Tapping
    Until the end of
    This Engulfing
    This Flapping
    This Gapping
    This Grinning
    And this Tap-
    Tap-Tapping.
