• Amidst these people,
    I stand there,
    alone,
    and cold.
Not a word escapes my lips.
    Through the noise,
    I only hear silence.
A silence so eery it sends shivers down my spine at the thought.
    The numbness takes over,
    the loneliness washes over me,
like a tidal wave of fear.
    It's suffocating,
    I can no longer breathe.
    That's when it happens,
you step into my tunnel vision of life.
    Arms open wide,
    though you were equally broken,
you loved me even with my brokenness.
    Now I stand here,
held within the protection of your arms,
    as do you in mine.
    A silence fills the air,
    but not like before,
this silence is sweet to the heart.
And all I see is you and I,
    looking inside out.
