• Life's Despair

Cramped, empty, yet filled with never-ending chaos.
Loneliness creeps like time, oozing through the pores,
Suffocating life out of all it touches.
Despair, in forms of light crystals
    Dancing on currents, sickeningly sweet,
Killing all desire but to sit, wait, and die.

Curl up in a corner, let the harsh light burn the skin
And the cold night envelope the eternal din.
Cool, cool night lasts only a moment
Before the sun is back, lashing the skin with razors
And searing with heat as unbearable as before.
Giving up it seems is the only choice.

    Sounds crash like waves breaking,
    Hitting like a hammer nailing.
    Flailing arms and legs attack
    From every source, every direction.
Crawl to a corner, give in and die.

But giving up is not an answer,
As it all continues, moving faster,
    Assailing the senses, killing sanity.
Only the eternal sleep could end it all,
But you can never be sure.

Will it truly end when life slips away,
Or will it go on, eternally,
    Despite life’s end?
Forever caught in the waves of chaos,
    Noise, destruction, loneliness, despair,
    Forever lost, forsaken.
