the waking world no longer haven
reality’s shadow leaves you cravin’
for light to fill the darkened pools
for hope to kill off binding rules
you weep for mercy and get none
you beg for sleep, so it comes
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
where all your petty dreams i keep
where all my nightmares stoke the fires
where i kill off all your desires
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
you beg now for the waking hours
the musty sunlight and dying flowers
you plead with sleep to let you go
you wish for light not darkness so
the fires burn brighter, the nightmares more
and off to torture your mind will soar
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
where all your petty dreams i keep
where all my nightmares stoke the fires
where i kill off all your desires
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
desires dead just like your soul
your tears now fill up empty holes
the dream and waking are both the same
no longer need a different name
but still you beg, as you weep
to be released to that blessed sleep
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
where all your hopes and dreams He keeps
where light shines bright and love is there
where beauty and peace are in the air
to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep
that which you want, perfect sleep....
does not exist, is darkness deep
to sleep... to sleep.... to lonely sleep
embrace the darkness that you keep

- This is interesting. It's not the best written, but it's not bad either. I really like the rhythem of the refrin 'to sleep to sleep, to blessed sleep' dor some reason. Also, the rhyming is good and not forced. This deserves four stars and a favourite.
