• Many ancient societies have talked about about mythical creatures such as dragons and griffons.

Well, what if I told you they are real, but it's a case of mistaken identity?:

(Dragons) - Carnivorous dinosaurs that hunted humans, and who's bones were discovered. Possibly also based on the Komodo Dragon, Alligator, or other reptiles.

(Griffons) - The bones of Ceratopsia (the family related to Tricerotops); In which they have huge bodies and beaked mouths. Found in the caves of Scythians in Asia; tales spread about how they protected gold in the caves.

(Cyclops) - The skull of Deinotherium, an ancient elephant, was discovered on the Greek Island of Crete. The hole in the skull where the nose extended out from was assumed to be where 1 giant eye rested; And the bones were so massive Cyclopes was thought to be huge.

(Giants) - A type of giant ape called Giganthopithecus which grew to be around 10ft tall and weigh 1,100 pounds. They're the cousin to the modern Orangutan; And like their cousin, Giganthopithecus also has red - redish brown hair on their body.

(Unicorns) - Based on Elasmotherium (the Woolly Rhino) (or even the Narwhal).

(Kraken) - Based on sightings of the Giant Squid, which can grow so large it can fight with Sperm Whales. They can grow up to 30ft and weigh up to 400 pounds.

(Kappa) - Based on the Japanese Giant Salamander, which can grow to 5ft and weigh 55 pounds.

(Chupacabra) - A wild dog with the skin disease ' Cheyletiellosis Mange' which causes the animal to lose its fur and develop rough skin with yellow/white-looking dandruff which are actually the mites themselves. This would explain the scales and predation of livestock the Chupacabra is said to have.

(Jackalope) - Rabbits with the Shope Fibroma Virus that causes keratinous carcinomas resembling horns, typically on or near the animal’s head. In young rabbit this can cause severe disease and cancerous tumors that can lead to death.

(Mermaid/Siren) - Based on the Dugong or Manatee. Dugongs often live close to the shore and made strange noises, which could have inspired the myth of Siren songs drawing ships to rocky shores and making them sink.

(Nessie/Loch Ness Monster) - Though proven to be a hoax, it was based on the Plesiosaur.

(Moth Man) - Many have said it to be a Sandhill Crane or large owl. The description is what was seen at night; said to have large wings and reflective eyes, and the noise it made was that of screeching or squeaking.

(Basilisk) - Based on the Titaniboa, which grew up to 50ft long and weighed 2,500 pounds.
