Tears streamed down my bruised cheek as I sat there alone, in a corner. Thinking what I have done. Why was I in a corner, you ask? It's a punishment because I broke my brother's most prized possession, a beautiful music box left behind from our mother. My mother left for a better place long time ago. My father said it was all my fault and I was good for nothing. I saw my dad walk into the living room. I shuffled back into my small uncomfortable corner and looked down.
''Why did you do that you little runt?! You have caused NOTHING but trouble! You are a disgrace to this family! Unacceptable! You shall be punished!'' He shouted furiously as he grabbed his leather strap.
He whipped me a few times. To be honest, it felt good to feel the pain. He left, slamming the door behind him, leaving me alone once more.
''I love you'' I whispered.
I stared down at my bloody mess of a body. I wiped my tears away and walked to the washroom to clean up. I walked passed my brothers room. He was in there, looking at the mess I made. I walked away. After I cleaned up, I walked into my brothers room. I apologized to him.
''DO YOU THINK A SMALL LITTLE APOLOGY CAN FIX THIS ALL?! DO YOU THINK I WOULD JUST FORGIVE YOU? SOMETIMES I WONDER WHY YOU WERE EVEN BORN. JUST GET LOST!'' He yelled in my face.
''No. You can't tell me what to do!'' I replied.
A hard painful slap came across my face. Tears began to flow down my redden cheeks. I ran out into the rain. I walked blindly. When I snapped out of it , I found myself on a bridge. I climbed to the ledge. I thought of all the things my brother and father had said to me: unacceptable, disgrace, devil's child, waste of skin, nothing but trouble, ugly troll. I had enough of this pain and suffering. I took one step and fell over the bridge. It feels nice, the breeze in your face. It feels like all my problems were gone. I will soon be with my mother, I thought. I'm coming.....mother.
