• Okay so alex and the band were in a meeting and they were wating for it to start and alex looks back at a board and it had a picture of santa next to his bands picture and he said "look nat were bigger than santa!" and the press heard it wrong and they thought he ment "were better than santa!" and then the press was asking alex all thease Q. like why did you say "santa is a tub of lard."? alex was so sad because they didn't let him explain and they were yelling at him and being mean.
    so in the song why when he says "why did you say it all along" he means why did he even say it then when he says "wasn't bout the truth wasn't bout the lie just he fact you made me cry you didn't even try i really wana sigh sorry but i have to say goodbye say goodbye you made me cry you didn't even know that you made me cry........." he was talking about what the press said.
