- Everyone we know went to high school. All had experiences that they will never forget. Experiences like having a first love, sports, parties, bullies, popularity, jobs, and their parent relationships. Style was different in the 80s, but you still see some of the style from back then today. Some girls still have big hair, big sunglasses, and skinny jeans. Guys are a different story. It’s rare, but some have perms, air pants, and leather jackets. Not much has changed from parent’s days in high school and the students of the high schools now. To collect even more information on this subject I interviewed “Warren Bert” a high school student from 85-88 to talk about his days in high school and what it was like. He started as a 10th grader in high school, because his middle school held students till after their 9th grade year. I asked him what successes he made in high school and he replied “I passed” he chuckled. “Okay, I was in advanced English and Math” he said. I was glad that he was in smart classes. He went on saying “I only played one year of soccer because I had to work at the age 17 at McDonalds”. As I listened to him explaining what positions he did at the fast food place, I felt bad that he didn’t have much experience in the sports he dreamed of playing. He explained why he had to work to contribute to the bills; well he mostly paid for all of them. His father had a heart attack in his junior year, so he was unemployed at the time. His mother didn’t put any effort in to get a job or even have one. This boy had a lot of weight on his shoulders. Even though things were tough, it didn’t stop him from having fun at parties. He did talk about if he could do it all over again he would and focus more on his education and play more sports. Teenagers need to realize it doesn’t matter what century your in you only have high school once. Enjoy while it lasts hanging with your friends and doing good on your education. Don’t do anything you’ll regret. One chance to make all the difference, one chance to be a kid still, one chance to make your career the way you planned it. That’s all you have….one chance. It similar about the teen’s years and their parent’s years in high school. They follow in their footsteps even when they don’t plan to or notice it. Perhaps we should all think about these four years in high school and how we want to spend it and spend it with

- Cool! smile I liked 80s style while in high school and dressed normal yet weird at the same time! I like the kid's advice because I wasn't very active in high school either.
