Marie Heinlein, later Howard. Born and raised in Germany until the age of six, when she along with her parents immigrated to the U.S.--shortly before the birth of her brother. She is a kind, gentle woman, not at all equipped for fighting. She is loyal, and seemingly incapable of holding grudges, regardless of the wrongdoing. So how did she wind up with Geese? Who knows.

The older sister to Kain R. Heinlein, wife to Geese Howard, and mother of Rock Howard.

It wasn't as if she'd done it on purpose, just to spite Kain. She knew perfectly how her brother felt. It wasn't like she'd meant to fall in love with him. Truthfully? She really couldn't recall how it had come about. When was their first meeting? What happened? What could he possibly have said to win her heart?

It didn't matter, the 'why' and the 'how.' Only that Geese Howard did it.

She knew that Kain cared deeply for his big sister. That was his reason. He'd been hoping that she would change her mind, and cling desperately to the life of luxury she'd been so accustomed to. Maybe he'd been hoping that she'd cling onto him instead of that man, and depend on him her entire life.

He claimed that Geese Howard was only toying with her; a man like that couldn't love anyone but himself. As soon as he was bored, he'd throw her out, abandon her, or worse. For a while, she'd believed him. Geese was a crimelord, with more power in his fists than money lining his pockets.

Then something funny happened.

She wasn't too good for him. She didn't deserve, nor want better. She wanted him.

That's why, when Kain grew desperate and forced her from the estate with disownment, she couldn't be upset. If Geese was filth, then she'd be filth too. While she still loved her brother, her heart belonged to the man she ran away with to start a new life.

She was happy.

Because of who her husband was, she was forced to remain hidden away--lest any of his enemies decide to use her against him. The last thing she wanted was to become any sort of burden.

It was only after the birth of their son that their situation began to bother her. Not for herself; for Rock. Her precious little boy. Geese's hands were full protecting himself, much less the two of them. For Rock's sake, so that he could have a peaceful, happy, normal life, she was forced to make the most painful decision of her life and once more leave someone dear to her.

She never stopped loving Geese. She couldn't. That's why she avoided contact with him, and why she refused the aid he presented to instead fend for herself. In a way, she was trying to protect her husband too!

She and Rock were doing all right, weren't they? It never ocurred to her that their son might mistake the situation, and his father's feelings towards them. She would have told him when he was a little older, when he could understand...

She never got that chance. When Rock was barely eight, she suddenly grew ill. The doctors didn't know what to do for her; they couldn't figure out what was wrong in the first place. This, she kept a secret. Geese couldn't know, Kain certainly couldn't know. And Rock, poor boy, she didn't know how to tell him.

Less than a year later, that mysterious disease finally claimed her life.

(Author's Note: The actual story is that Geese left Marie, and much like his father did to his mother never acknowledged Rock as his son. The reason why he left Marie is unclear, as is whether or not he knew of Rock's existence or chose to ignore it. In Rock's ending for Garou, Grant addresses Marie as "Geese's wife" and Kain calls Geese his "dear brother-in-law", implying that they were actually married. Again, it is never stated whether or not Geese loved Marie at any point. That's up to the player to decide.
This profile is set to match the backstory created by the Geese on here.)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
What if... I am not real?
What if I'm not Marie at all? Are my memories false?
What if..I never remember anything? Or worse, I forget everything else too?
..What if... this is a dream...? That I can't awaken from?
What if I really am dead? And if I am, is this Heaven, or is it Hell?
Who am I...?
