He is URTV unit 666 also called the "Red Dragon" and was the linkmaster that connected all the other URTV's during U-DO simulations. He also led the other variants; Nigredo and his twin, Albedo, into the subconscious of Sakura Mizrahi.
After the events of Old Miltia, Rubedo changed his name to Gaignun Kukai Jr. (Gaignun is Nigredo's alias). As he wanted to erase all the bad memories from when he was a URTV. Jr. is also able to halt the growth of his cells causing him to stay child-like.
