- Description: La llorona, meaning "weeping/crying woman", is an old Mexican folktale. Although the legends differ greatly, most agree on a few things. Such as the fact that she was a beautiful woman with two children, who she drowned usually due to love for a man or jealousy, and soon after drowned herself. Now she roams everywhere looking from her children, kidnapping nearby kids and claiming them as her own. Many claim that late at night you can still hear the cries of La Llorona, the Weeping Woman.
