The Storm trooper is the corner stone of the Imperial army, carrying out the will of their superiors without question. Each stormtrooper is assigned a number for tactical purposes and to reinforce the Imperial ethic of uniformity. The troopers' most distinctive equipment is the white battle armor they wear. What they lack in fighting skill and strategies, they make up for in sheer numbers.

- Desiraa; they are most certainly "stormtroopers" in the Star Wars universe. Once upon a time Lucas was going to call them "Startroopers", I think, but that's not what actually came to pass.
