Hagi, as a twelve year old boy, is purchased by Joel to be a companion for Saya. He lives with her in Joel's mansion for many years. Him aging, and Saya remaining the same. When trying to pick a flower for Saya on a whim, he falls and nearly dies, but Saya turns him instead into her chevalier, bound to her side for eternity.
