The sun beats down
On hard cracked ground
It’s Christmas in Australia
No snow no cold
With summers hold
It’s dry in the great down under
We’ll gather round the barbi
And have ourselves a beer
In shorts and thongs
All summer long
With friends and family near
So gather round the Christmas tree
And we’ll sing ourselves a song
There’ll be no turkey dinner here
You’ll find fish and chips with prawns
And on Christmas day
We’ll hide away
In the comfort of a pub
An ice-cold beer
With friends so near
We’ll stay cold in the summers heat
And when the pressies are gone
And the tree’s packed away
We’ll look forward
To next years Christmas day!!
